New Lawyers Section
Thank you for coming to visit the New Lawyers Section page on the WCBA web site. Embarking on a new career in the law at any stage of life is exciting and often is coupled with a little bit of apprehension. As both members and Co-chairs of the New Lawyers Section, we strive to provide a social environment wherein new lawyers can meet other people who are just starting out and can have a suppport network to help them launch their new careers with energy and enthusiasm! We also strive to provide a stress-free environment wherein new lawyers can meet with more experienced members of the profession who can provide guidance and support. We do all of this while having fun at various WCBA CLEs and other Association events.
We thank our current members for continuing to be a part of the excitement. We have a lot of innovative ideas to help the Westchester County Bar grow and welcome new members with tremendous enthusiasm for new voices with new ideas. We are the future faces of the Westchester County Bar. Now is the time to be a part of something great!
The New Lawyers Section is charged with the responsibility of fostering social relations and cameraderie among new practitioners and members of the legal profession. Our constituency consists of lawyers who have been admitted to practice fewer than ten years, and we also strive to acquaint new lawyers with the purpose and function of the WCBA. It is our responsibility as members of the New Lawyers Section to voice our opinions to the Association and to members of the general public concerning issues related to current developments and changes in the law as well as its practical effects. Through continuing legal education, such as lectures, publications, panels, debates, and discussions, we seek to aid and assist new lawyers in the development and refinement of the requisite practical skills necessary for the practice of law. If you are not already a member, we would love for you to join!
